Mona Abdul Hameed is a Brussels-based visual artist currently studying fine arts at Sint-Lukas art school. Her works often serve as carriers of a message, a conversation starter, a story. She often reflect on these themes for a long time, doubts, searches until she finds the exact visual translation of what she wants to communicate.
To counter this long process and the uncertainty that comes with it, she likes to experiment with écriture automatique, quick sketches, blind drawings, or sharing a canvas with someone else. In these moments, control gives way to intuition, and the work is allowed to unfold freely, guided more by instinct than by intention.
